This program focuses on the design, assembly, programming, and testing of Cartesian robotic systems—a key elements in automated manufacturing environments.

Participants will explore robot classification, coordinate systems, and characteristics, moving through design calculations, mechanical design, precision assembly, wiring, and programming. The course culminates with functional testing and real-world troubleshooting, enhanced by modern integration of IoT and sensor-actuator systems.

By the end of the program, participants will be able to build and operate a functional Cartesian robot system with confidence.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to :

  • Understand fundamental robotics concepts including robot classification, coordinate systems, and key characteristics such as payload, reach, and repeatability.
  • Perform basic design calculations for robot motion, load analysis, actuator sizing, and force distribution relevant to Cartesian robots.
  • Develop proficiency in mechanical and electrical assembly, including CAD modeling, precision fitting, electrical wiring, and safety system integration.
  • Install, configure, and program robotic control systems using tools such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino IDE, and flow-based programming with Node-RED.
  • Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot robotic systems to ensure performance reliability under operational conditions, including sensor and actuator integration.
